New Year Intentions

We’re already 6 days into this year. Woah! Where did THAT week go?!

How do YOU approach January? Do you love it? Or do you see it as the month after Christmas when nothing much happens?

I LOVE January. Fresh promise. Fresh ideas. Fresh plans.  I honestly feel it’s the most exciting month of the year!

In December last year I loosely mapped out the tasks I would steam through in January:

  • Clear the rest of my belongings, reducing them to just what I need/will use. (Should be in the can by end of this week)
  • Create my first digital products and get set them up on a newly designed website.
  • Bring together the work I’ve done on the book I’m writing with Dr Gaier, including writing up the content necessary to pitch it to my agent of choice.
  • Add the finishing touches to my blog redesign
  • Follow up on my first clients (who bought into my one-off Black Friday deal last November) (Done)
  • Buy the last of the products I need to make my first batch of 3 types of hair paste, to send out to my small, global focus group (About to confirm cost on final ingredient)
  • Clear my computer of content I no longer need and deal with remaining tech issues
  • Get my fitness book up to date (have been writing up my struggles in a diary – I hope it will amuse!)
  • Re-test at least 40 recipes for the book, so I’m confident they’re the ones I want to showcase (I started with 100, but am being more realistic now – ha)

Gosh, looking at that list is kind of crazy. That’s a LOT of work! However, I see January as a foundation month. A time to lay the building blocks for the coming year. From there, everything should flow.

Of course, it doesn’t always work out the way we plan/hope. That cheeky thing called ‘life’ can tend to get in the way.

And get in the way it often does! It can slow us down, grind us down, halt us in our tracks. *I already think the list above may leak into the end of the first week in February .. 😉

Still, if you build foundations and make plans while the going is good (if indeed it is good for you at the moment, which I hope it is ..) it can make coping much easier if life throws an unexpected curved ball at you.

So, what are YOUR intentions?

Resolutions are pretty much a waste of time, don’t you think? Rather than resolutions, how about setting intentions?

A resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something.

An intention is an aim or plan, rather than a firm decision. It’s much more fluid and allows you to ‘intend’ to do things, while placing less pressure on the outcome.

My intention this year is to learn as much as I can to enrich and help guide my life,

to be open to suggestions and any necessary change … and be in general FLOW.

What is your own intention?

If you haven’t thought it through, maybe take some time to consider it this week, so you feel more confident about where you’d like this year to take you?

Here’s last week’s ‘New Year Intentions’ broadcast. It’s a long one. Around 1 hr 20 minutes. I had a small group of friends/followers online with me, chatting and asking questions. It made for an interesting time. I love that you continue to challenge the way I think. Thank you!
